The 38-year-old veteran Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal recently highly praised the Indian limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma for his amazing batting quality, which he has maintained for a long time.

Rohit Sharma is one of the top Indian batsmen in the present time. After the right-handed batsman has been promoted to the opening batting position, he has set a great example of consistency in his batting. As an opener, he is always ready to take the major responsible role in the Indian batting line-up. Not only in India, but Rohit has also shown his power in batting even outside the Asian soil.

Rohit has played 32 Tests, 224 ODIs and 108 T20Is, where the right-handed batsman has scored 2141 runs (average 46.54), 9115 runs (average 49.27) and 2773 runs (average 32.62) respectively. The second-most T20I run-scorer Rohit is currently also the second-ranked ODI batsman.

The biggest plus point is his power hitting, he can hit big shots and sixes: Kamran Akmal about Rohit Sharma

Kamran Akmal recently praised Rohit for his timing, temperament, and commitment towards batting. Talking about this, Akmal also mentioned Rohit’s three ODI double-centuries, the only batsman to hit more than one ODI double-century.

Akmal told Pakistan journalist Sawera Pasha on her YouTube chat show Cric Cast, “Amazing, unbelievable batsman. The kind of joy you get while watching him bat is immense. His timing, temperament, and commitment towards batting is just unbelievable. Scoring 200s, 150s is very tough. He has two double hundreds I guess (Rohit has three). And look at the recent World Cup, he scored five centuries.”

Not only the ODI double-century, but Rohit has also recorded the most number of 150+ scores in ODI career, which the right-handed batsman has achieved for eight times.

In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Rohit finished as the most run-scorer (648 runs). He scored five centuries in that tournament, which is also the record number of centuries in a Cricket World Cup edition.

Talking more about Rohit’s batting, Akmal added, “He can hit boundaries with such grace, can rotate the strike with singles too. The biggest plus point is his power hitting, he can hit big shots and sixes.”

Apart from Rohit, Akmal also believes that youngsters should follow the Indian captain Virat Kohli and Pakistan limited-overs captain Babar Azam to learn the art of batting.

Akmal continued, “Youngsters, who want to learn the art of batting, should watch him, Babar Azam, Virat Kohli.”

Both Kohli and Babar have set a great example of consistency in batting in every format of international cricket.
