In one of those surprising moves, Kieron Pollard has signed a contract for Trinbago Knight Riders to participate in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League 2019. The flamboyant batsman is the yet another local boy to join the team, in the tournament, which would see the fans go berserk for him.
Trinbago Knight Riders have signed Kieron Pollard as their Marquee Player for the 2019 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL), to be played from September 4 to October 12 this year.
The Trinidadian all-rounder played for the Barbados Tridents from 2013 to 2017 and for St Lucia Stars in 2018. Now, he will be playing for his home franchise for the first time in his CPL career in 2019.

Speaking of the signing, Venky Mysore, who is the director of the team quoted that they are delighted to sign such a star player for the tournament. They would love to see him play for their franchise, who got a heavy fan base back home. Venky also highlighted the fact that Pollard will enter into the game as a local kid.

“We are delighted to welcome Pollard back home and it’s great to continue our efforts to bring as many Trini boys home as possible. I can’t wait for the reaction of the fans when Pollard takes the field at our opening game on 4 September,” Venky Mysore said in a statement.
The CPL draft is slated for May 22. The Tallawahs have won the title in 2013 and 2016 while the Trinidad and Tobago-based franchise have triumphed in 2015, 2017 and 2018.
Currently, Kieron Pollard is plying his trade for Mumbai Indians franchise in the Indian Premier League 2019. He will return back home after playing one last game for the team in the tournament, which will be the final of the competition.
Recently, he has been ousted from the team, which will be heading to England to play ICC World Cup 2019. However, Pollard is on the list of standbys, who could get the call in the times of emergency.
