Watch: KL Rahul Humurous Reply To Yuzvendra Chahal
KL Rahul had a good day in Hyderabad ground. The right-hand batsman gave a good start to the team and set the game for other batsmen to play freely. The opener reached the new milestone, he completed 1000 runs in the T20 internationals in the first T20I match against West Indies. The spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took the interview of Rahul in “Chahal TV”.
The Karnataka player got the confidence back after playing big knock in the domestic tournament. He has learnt to stand for his team which has helped him in the first T20I match in Hyderabad. Shikhar Dhawan’s injury has given the chance to KL Rahul to prove his batting skills in T20Is.
KL Rahul’s opening partner Rohit Sharma (8) lost his wicket early in their record T20I chase (target – 208 runs) but Rahul continued his game. He scored 62 runs in 40 balls which includes 5 fours and 4 sixes. Yuzvendra Chahal, who picked up two wickets of visitors in that same game, asked Rahul about his game in Hyderabad.
KL Rahul felt the pitch was not supportive but he gained the confidence after hitting some boundaries.
“We saw in the first innings that when the batsmen were set on the wicket, it got easier to score runs. This wicket was a bit weird, it was not the flattest wicket that I played on but still, both teams managed to score 200 plus so I cannot complain about the wicket,” Rahul told Chahal on his talk-show ‘Chahal TV’.
“Initially, I got two-three boundaries in the second over of our innings and that gave me confidence. But unfortunately, Rohit got out a bit early, then Virat came in and it was important to form a partnership. Luckily, Virat stayed till the end and it all paid dividend,” he added.
KL Rahul funny reply to Chahal
The conversation between KL Rahul and Chahal ended on a hilarious note. The spinner asked if Rahul remembers how much run he is ahead of him. Rahul jokingly replied that he is 999 runs ahead of Chahal.
“Now that you have reached 1000 runs, do you know how many runs you are ahead of me in the run-scoring chart in T20Is?”, Chahal asked.
Rahul jokingly replied that “I am 999 runs ahead of you”
