Kolkata and Chennai once again met in the finals of the domestic T20. Last time it was in IPL7 final and now today in the CLT20 final. It seems that the two are made for the finals. Today we saw some very great batting performance and quite a few bowling performance as well. So here we now present to you the Hits and Flops of the Match.
Hits of the Day
1. Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina proved why he is one of the best and the most consistent T20 player. He is a great fielder and a great batsman. He scored the highest runs today and most importantly he scored a century in a T20 format. After the early depart of Dwayne Smith he stood and calm and scored runs aggressively. He hit 8 great SIXES.
2. Gautam Gambhir
The skipper proved his mettle and lead KKR in a heroic way. He outsmarted the bowlers and scored 80 runs in 52 balls. He took the charge with Robin Uthappa and made an opening partnership of 91 runs. KKR had CSK in control in the first part of the game. He hit 3 sixes.
3. Pawan Negi
Pawan Negi was the consistent bowler in CLT20. And he played a great game today. He picked up 5 wickets on a batsman pitch where runs were consistent. And moreover he had the best economy rate of just 5.5. In his 4 overs spell he gave away only 22 runs.
4. Robin Uthappa
The wicket keeper batsman teamed up with the skipper and dominated the CSK bowling. He and Gambhir scored 91 runs in partnership which showed their consistent performance in the T20s. He scored 39 runs and hit a single six.
5. Brendon McCullum
Brendon McCullum was also the key player for CSK who kept runs coming. He and Raina had some good partnership. But unfortunately he couldn’t last long and departed with just 39 runs.
6. Yusuf Pathan
Yusuf Pathan played tremendously well in the last part of KKR innings. He scored 22 runs in just 9 balls. And he also picked up a wicket.
Flops of the Day
1. Ashish Nehra
Ashish Nehra was a big disappointment today. He gave great games in the last few matches. But today was not his day and he was the most expensive one. In just 4 overs he gave away 54 runs with an economy rate of 13.5. It was a huge blow for CSK.
2. Jacques Kallis
Jacques Kallis didn’t cheer up the crowd with his batting performance as he struggled to bat and left the crease with just a single run. He couldn’t carry the momentum which Robin and Gautam were carrying.
3. Dwayne Bravo
Dwayne Bravo was too on the expensive side. His 2 overs spell gave away 24 runs which was not the thing CSK wanted.
4. Dwayne Smith
Dwayne Smith’s magic didn’t work today as he was departed early with a score of just 8 runs. It seems that he couldn’t carry the huge pressure on his shoulders given by KKR.
5. Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav from the KKR side gave away lots of runs today. In his 4 overs spell he gave away 44 runs and picked up no wickets. His economy rate was 11.
6. Piyush Chawla
Piyush Chawla, another bowler from was expensive today. He took the hard hitting from Raina.
