The former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was one of the greatest and successful Indian cricketers in the limited-overs formats. He was a stylish cricketer who mostly played useful roles for his team as a left-handed batsman, left-arm spinner and incredible acrobatic fielder.

While his international career ran for 17 years (2000-2017), Yuvraj played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is. The middle-order batsman scored 1,900 Test runs, 8,701 ODI runs and 1,177 T20I runs. Also, the left-arm spinner picked up 148 international wickets (111 ODI wickets, 28 T20I wickets and nine Test wickets).

Yuvraj played vital roles for India’s many successes in international cricket, including winning the ICC World T20 2007 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. In fact, Yuvraj won the Player of the Tournament award in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 for his brilliant all-round performances.

Once, Yuvraj was seriously in contention for the limited-overs captaincies of the national team. But finally, the selectors chose MS Dhoni as the captain in that period. Since then, Yuvraj didn’t get any opportunity to lead the Indian team.
