1. MS Dhoni tops this list with 99.16:

The former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is topping the charts with the whopping average of 99.16, as his successor Virat Kohli is not far from him – to gain the lead in the minimum of 1000 runs.
Dhoni is hailed as the best finisher and he has proved again and again, as the latest example came in the second ODI in Kandy where he scored unbeaten 45 off 68 deliveries.
The Ranchi-born Dhoni, who is known for flexing his muscles, since past one decade has played a significant part in India’s run-cahses and has further been a good finisher of the limited-overs format owing to the occasional jinx.
The entertainer on the cricket field has made things miserable during his prime for the bowlers, as he still possesses the same attitude of finishing the game at the top while being one of the fittest cricketers at the age of 36.
So far, Dhoni has featured in 298 ODIs and smashed 64 fifties and 10 hundreds and 64 fifties at an average of 51.57.
