As Lanka Premier League (LPL 2020) has faced another set back as Canadian batsman, Ravinderpal Singh tested positive for the coronavirus. He was set to play for the Colombo Kings franchise, but his availability for the tournament now depends on his recovery.
Well, Andre Russell and some other batsman travelled along with Ravinderpal Singh in the same flight, but according to ESPNCrinfo, all will feature in the league, which is scheduled to begin next week.
Ravinderpal Singh to receive medication:
The batsman has been isolated in a hotel while others have entered the bio-bubble.
“[Ravinderpal Singh] has been sent for treatment at another hotel in the area, which has been set up like a hospital. He is not at the same hotel as the others, and they are all in their bubble. The others will be training and preparing for the tournament as usual,” said Anil Mohan, CEO of the IPG Group company, which is organising the LPL.
Chris Gayle, along with some star players, pulled out of LPL 2020:
A few days back, Chris Gayle pulled out of the tournament. He was set to play for Kandy Tuskers, which is owned by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s family.
According to information available with InsideSport, Gayle pulled out because commercial understanding with the organizers could not be reached. Sarfaraz Khan and Lasith Malinga are also among some other players, who have made themselves unavailable for this season.
The league will span for 21 days during which 23 Matches, including eight double-headers, will be played. A total of five teams will feature. Colombo Kings and Kandy Tusker will play the season opener on November 26 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium. The grand finale will be played on December 16.
