Young Rahul Chahar has impressed in his early career

The 19-year-old Rahul Chahar is the cousin brother of the Indian pacer Deepak Chahar, who made his international debut in last year and has played one ODI and one T20I for the national team. Unlike the right-arm pace bowler Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar is a leg-spinner.

Rajasthan cricketer Rahul Chahar made his domestic debut in 2016. He has already played 12 first-class matches and picked up 49 wickets with an average of 28.40. Also, the leg-spinner has played 22 List A matches and 20 T20s where he has taken 38 and 23 wickets respectively.

In the last Vijay Hazare trophy (2018/19), Rahul Chahar was the leading wicket-taker for his side Rajasthan. He bagged 20 wickets in nine matches (average 17.55) in that tournament and finished as the third most wicket-taker in that tournament.

Rahul Chahar made his IPL debut in 2017 when he served for now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS). Since the IPL 2018, he has served for Mumbai Indians (MI). After playing ten matches in his IPL career, Rahul Chahar has picked up 11 wickets. In the ongoing IPL season, he has picked up nine wickets in seven matches (average 19.11).

The young leg-spinner picked up three wickets in both the last two matches of ongoing IPL. On last Thursday (18th April), his impressing bowling (3/19) massively helped MI to beat the home side Delhi Capitals (DC) by 40 runs.

Though MI suffered a five-wicket defeat against the host side Rajasthan Royals (RR) on last Saturday (20th April) afternoon, Rahul Chahar once again impressed with his bowling performance. This time the leg-spinner had the bowling figures of 4-0-29-3.
