Michael Vaughan Disappointed With Indian Batting In Christchurch Test
Indian team faced another batting failure on the day one of the Christchurch Test. Meanwhile, in the late moment of that day, the New Zealand openers showed some quality batting performances. Former English captain Michael Vaughan has been disappointed with the performances of the no.1-ranked Test team.
Apart from the T20I series, the Indian team has mostly failed in the ODI and Test matches in the ongoing New Zealand tour. In the two-match Test series, the Indian batsmen have failed to put strong fights against the hosts’ bowlers.
After the hard experiences in the first Test at Wellington, where New Zealand bundled out the no.1-ranked Test team for just 165 and 191 runs, only some of the Indian batsmen made improve in the final Test of this series at Christchurch.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson once again sent the Indian team to bat first after winning the toss at Christchurch. Most of the Indian batsmen failed to perform positively on the green top. Only the young opener Prithvi Shaw (54), the no.3 batsman Cheteshwar Pujara (54) and the middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari (55) played quality knocks in the first innings of the Christchurch Test. All other Indian batters failed to reach the 20-run mark in that innings.
Opener Mayank Agarwal, captain Virat Kohli, Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane hugely disappointed with their bats on the first day of the Christchurch Test. While India were bundled out for 242 runs in the first innings of the ongoing Test, New Zealand ended the day one on 63/0 as both openers Tom Latham (27*) and Tom Blundell (29*) remained not out.
NZ giving India a lesson in how to play in conditions where the ball moves through the air: Michael Vaughan
Michael Vaughan isn’t happy with the performances of the Indian batsmen in the ongoing New Zealand tour, especially in the Test series. In his official Twitter account, Vaughan revealed his thought on the Indian team. He feels that India can’t be regarded as a great team until they start winning matches in places like New Zealand and England.
Michael Vaughan wrote, “NZ giving India a lesson in how to play in conditions where the ball moves through the air … They can’t be regarded as a great team till they start winning in places like NZ & England .. #NZvsIND”
