Mohammad Amir, former Pakistan pacer, has pulled out of the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League, which is scheduled to begin on November 19. He confirmed the development through a social media post on Thursday, stating that he has been affected by Covid-19.

The 2021 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League will commence on 19th November 2021. On the opening day of the tournament, 2 matches will be played. While the Northern Warriors will take on the Delhi Bulls in the first rubber, Team Abu Dhabi will clash with the Bangla Tigers in the second match.

Mohammad Amir Was A Part Of The Franchise Bangla Tigers In The Abu Dhabi T10 League, But He Withdrew At The Last Minute

Mohammad Amir added that he is fine now, but the left-arm pacer also said that he needs the prayers of the people for his recovery. Mohammad Amir, who announced his retirement in 2019, was a party of the franchise Bangla Tigers that also features the likes of Faf du Plessis, James Faulkner, Andre Fletcher, and Hazratullah Zazai.

After Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis stepped down from their posts on Monday, Mohammad Amir decided to make himself available for his country once again.

Mohammad Amir on Thursday took Twitter and wrote, “hi everyone just wanted to say m I am not playing T10 league this year because I got affected with the covid but now I am fine ALHUMDULILLAH just need prayers for the speedy recovery.”

 

The fifth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League will take place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The shortest format of the game is hosted by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and is the only T10 tournament in the world sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Northern Warriors Are The Defending Champions Of Abu Dhabi T10 League And Won It Most Times- Twice

Over the years, some of the finest players, mostly retired from int’l cricket from across the globe, have participated in the tournament. Abu Dhabi T10 League has continued its tradition to draft some of the big names into the competition this year. The list of superstars to feature in UAE’s domestic T10 cricket league include the likes of India’s Yusuf Pathan, Faf du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo, Jason Roy, Chris Gayle, among others.

While speaking to the media, Mohammad Amir said that his reports came positive on November 8, after which he had confined himself in a room for quarantine. While stating his plans, he said that he will move to Karachi from Lahore on November 20 and from there to Dubai on November 21.

TV Broadcast and Live Streaming Details

Colors Cineplex SD (Hindi), Colors Cineplex HD (English), Rishtey Cineplex (Hindi) will broadcast the matches live. They will be live-streamed on Voot and Jio TV. The final will be played on December 4. There have been 4 editions of the tournament held so far. The Northern Warriors have won the Abu Dhabi T10 League twice, while Kerala Kings and Maratha Arabians emerged as the champions once each.

The Northern Warriors are currently the defending champions of the tournament Abu Dhabi T10 League. In the previous edition of the competition, the Northern Warriors downed the Delhi Bulls in the final to win the summit clash with 8 wickets in hand. The Delhi Bulls posted a total of 81/9 on the board, and the Northern Warriors chased down the target with 10 balls remaining.

The left arm-pacer Mohammad Amir has represented Pakistan in 36 Test matches, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is. He has also played for Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings. In addition, he has recently played for Barbados Royals during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021.
