On the other hand, we have also seen some great international cricket captains, who failed to maintain their successful image as a leader in the IPL career.
Here we are talking about the top five most unsuccessful captains in IPL history (minimum matches played as a captain – 20 matches)
Sourav Ganguly – success 40.47%
Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly was a very successful Indian captain who inspired the Indian team to grow up in international cricket from a difficult situation. However, Ganguly didn’t achieve a big success as a captain in the IPL career.
While Ganguly played IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Pune Warriors India (PWI) as he played a total of 59 IPL matches, he led both the sides. Under Ganguly’s IPL leadership, his team won 17 matches out of 42 games. So, Ganguly-led IPL side suffered 25 games. As a captain in the IPL, his success rate was 40.47%.
