MS Dhoni’s Rs.1800 Membership Dues Settled By JSCA

MS Dhoni’s membership dues have been finally settled after the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) reported that a payment of Rs 1800 is pending from the former India captain over his membership. The entire issue was highlighted after some school students back in Jharkhand and MSD fans raised the funds to make a draft and sent it to JSCA in order to settle the amount. Though the payment was not accepted, it has now been learned that the dues are all settled.

The following four players represented India from Jharkhand. Other notable domestic players include Ishan Kishan and Ishank Jaggi.

  • Mahendra Singh Dhoni – is the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team-leading India to victories in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup. He is the only skipper to win all 3 ICC trophies.
  • Saurabh Tiwary – played 3 ODIs for India where he scored 49 runs.
  • Varun Aaron – fast bowler who played 9 tests and 9 one-dayers for India taking 18 and 11 wickets respectively.
  • Shahbaz Nadeem – spinner who played a solitary test for India where he took 4 wickets averaging 10.

MS Dhoni’s Lifetime Membership Dues Settled And Matter Closed: Sanjay Sahay

The money was levied on account of GST attached to MS Dhoni’s lifetime membership of JSCA. On Tuesday, however, the association secretary Sanjay Sahay confirmed to the Times of India that all dues are settled and the matter has hence been closed.

“The matter has been closed. There is nothing more to add to it. That status existed till March 31. But after that the payment came in so the matter has been closed,” said Sahay.

As the audit report for the previous financial year came in, the pending dues were highlighted.

“The audit report is supposed to run till 31st March of every year. So that is how it (Dhoni’s dues) came to light. The payment has already come in and we have accepted that, hence the matter is completely settled,” said Sahay.

The former skipper MS Dhoni’s net worth figure is estimated to be around Rs. 800 crores.

Sanjay Sahay Does Not Reveal Name Of The Person Clearing The Dues

It was, however, not confirmed if the former skipper MS Dhoni himself made the said payment. Sanjay Sahay also criticized activist Sesh Nath Pathak who had reached out to the association along with four others to settle MS Dhoni’s dues.

“Some people will do such things. They will do anything to try and get their name on newspapers. There are certain individuals and groups who do such things in order to look after their own interest,” Sahay added.

Sesh Nath Pathak had earlier said that he had made the payment but was not issued a receipt.

Sahay responded saying: “When we don’t need the money, why should we issue a receipt in the first place? I don’t know whether he has taken back the draft or not but if he doesn’t then we will put it up at the notice board, we are not going to use it.”

He further added: “Who is he to come and give money on Dhoni’s behalf? The draft has not yet been returned but it will be given back. We are not supposed to accept such drafts.”

MS Dhoni’s fans are happy to see the controversy being over although the name of the member who donated money to clear the dues has not been revealed.
