Apart from being India’s first T20I captain, the former Indian opener Virender Sehwag generally played the stand-in captain role in the absence of the regular Indian captain. From 2005 to 2006, Dhoni played six internationals matches under Sehwag.
Out of those six international matches, where Sehwag led the Indian team, Dhoni played three ODIs, two Tests and also made his T20I debut.
