Virat Kohli – 75 matches
When MS Dhoni was serving as an Indian captain, he retired from the Test cricket at the end of December 2014. However, after stepping down from the limited-overs captaincies in early 2017, Dhoni played many limited-overs matches under the present Indian captain Virat Kohli.
From January 2017 to his last international match in July 2019, Dhoni played 75 international matches under the leadership of Kohli – Dhoni’s second-most international matches under any captain. During this period, Dhoni played 57 ODIs and 18 T20Is, including featuring in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales.
