Indian Test specialist opening batsman Murali Vijay has finally returned to the form with his bat. After playing two consecutive 70+ innings, he played a century knock on Saturday (2 March) in the domestic T20 tournament.

Currently, the Indian domestic cricketers are busy in the 2018/19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Saturday is the final day of the Group Stages of the tournament, where Murali Vijay hit his third T20 century.

Playing for Tamil Nadu, Murali Vijay scored 107 runs off 67 balls against Meghalaya at Surat. In that brilliant innings, Murali Vijay hit nine boundaries and five over-boundaries. He and Washington Sundar put a crucial 135-run partnership for the opening wicket. Washington Sundar scored 53 off 37 balls before getting out.

Meanwhile, Murali Vijay lost his wicket in the 20th over as Tamil Nadu managed to score 213/2 in 20 overs. It is the highest T20 total for Tamil Nadu. Their previous record was 205/7 against Karnataka at Hyderabad (Deccan) on 18 October 2010.
