As a player, Lasith Maling has enjoyed equal success in domestic league as well as internationally, but he has, so far, failed in the captaincy of Sri Lanka. Also, he has not got the chance to captain in the premier league.

Mumbai Indians’ player has featured in 122 IPL matches and picked up 170 wickets. He has also delivered to the team during tough times, giving them several match-wins.

At the international platform, the veteran has 338 ODI wickets in 226 matches and T20Is; he has picked up 101 wickets in 84 games. He also holds the unique record of dismissing four batsmen in consecutive balls, and he has achieved the feat on two different occasions.

On the other hand, he had unimpressive figures in captaincy. Under him, Sri Lanka has won seven games out 24 matches, which shows his failure as the captain.
