In the reply of visiting side India’s 5-0 victory in the five-match T20I series, the hosts New Zealand completed a whitewash in the three-match ODI series. On Tuesday (11th February), during the last game of the ODI series, New Zealand beat India by five wickets at Bay Oval (Mount Maunganui)
After winning the toss, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson decided to field first. While the visitors managed to score 296/7 (50 overs) in the first innings, the Black Caps chased down that target in 47.1 overs after losing half of their batsmen (300/5).
Indian top-order batsmen struggled
The Indian top-order batsmen failed to provide a good start as apart from the opener Prithvi Shaw (40), the other two batsmen among the top three failed to reach the double-digit scores.
Shreyas Iyer and the wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul handled the situation very well and set up the 100 runs partnership for the fourth wicket. After Iyer was dismissed on 62 runs off 63 balls (9 fours), Rahul continued his superb form and built up another 107 runs partnership with Manish Pandey for the fifth wicket.
KL Rahul completed his fourth ODI century in 104 balls. After scoring 112 runs off 113 balls (9 fours and 2 sixes), he lost his wicket in the 47th over. On the very next ball of Rahul’s dismissal, Manish Pandey also lost his wicket on 42 runs.

Among the New Zealand bowlers, Hamish Bennett (4/64) scalped four wickets. Also, Kyle Jamieson (1/53) and James Neesham (1/50) picked up one wicket each.
New Zealand got a good start, and Colin de Grandhomme played firing knock at late
In reply, the openers Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls provided a very good start with the 106 runs partnership. After Guptill was dismissed on 66 runs off 46 balls (6 fours and 4 sixes), Nicholls carried that innings. Though captain Kane Williamson (22) and Ross Taylor (12) failed to score big runs, the opener Nicholls scored 80 runs off 103 balls (9 fours).

At one stage, New Zealand were fighting on 220/5 in the 40th over. But Colin de Grandhomme‘s furious batting helped the hosts to win that game comfortably. Grandhomme completed his half-century in just 21 balls and remained not out on 58 runs off 28 balls (6 fours and 3 sixes).

Grandhomme and wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Latham put the firing 80 runs partnership for the unbroken sixth-wicket which secured their victory in this game. Latham was unbeaten on 32 runs.
While the leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (3/47) managed to pick up three wickets, Shardul Thakur (1/87) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/45) got one wicket each.
India suffered the ODI series whitewash after 31 years. The Indian fans are hugely disappointed with this performance.

Winning is a habit and certainly need to make sure of that no matter what format we play. Hopefully team India will bounce in the test series. Well done @BLACKCAPS for winning the one day series… #NZvIND

India couldn't chase 274 and couldn't defend 347 and 296.
New Zealand outplayed India in all departments in all 3 games and are deserved winners of the One Day Series. Many congratulations @BLACKCAPS for making it 3-0 #NZvIND pic.twitter.com/HcSqJgj4ah— VVS Laxman (@VVSLaxman281) February 11, 2020

If he is struggling now, his comeback will be such that no one could even expect.
That comeback is not many days away, it will come very soon.
Be patient viratians and cricket fans.

No Rohit Sharma. No party.
Virat Kohli's team India can't win big series against top teams in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
1st time India got white washed after 31 years.#NZvIND #NZvsIND
