New Zealand vs Bangladesh 2016/17: Twitter Reacts As Kane Williamson’s Men Secure Clean Sweep Over Visitors
Dec 31, 2016 at 12:07 PM
Kane Williamson’s New Zealand crushed Bangladesh by eight wickets in the final ODI to inflict a humiliating 3-0 whitewash on the visitors.
Looking to salvage some pride, Bangladesh openers started the innings in a brilliant manner by adding 102 runs for the first wicket. But just like the previous matches, the Asian country once again crumbled from a good position as they lost their next seven wickets for only 77 runs. Nurul Hasan then scored 44 to help his team cross the 200-run mark. However, he lacked support from the other end as his team huffed and puffed to 236 for 9.
The score was never going to be a tough one for the hosts but a quick wicket gave the visitors a chance to claw their way back into the match. Mustafizur Rahman dismissed the in-form Tom Latham for only four but after that, it was only a one-way traffic as Kane Williamson (95*) and Neil Broom (97) added 185 runs for the second wicket. The hosts eventually chased down the total with 52 balls to spare.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the match:
