Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is known for his blistering-winning knocks in the ICC World Cup 2011 and T20 World Cup 2007. He was the match-winner for Team India. Gambhir was handed over the captaincy of the team in some instances when MS Dhoni was given rest.
In 2011-12, Gambhir was given the captaincy of India in the five-match ODI series against New Zealand. He successfully led the team and India whitewashed the kiwi team by 5-0. He was again captaincy in one of the matches against West Indies where the Men In Blue gained the victory. Overall, under his captaincy, India played six ODI matches and won all the six of them owing to the ODI series.
