Indian team registered a well-fought win over New Zealand at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) stadium in Dharamshala on October 22, 2023, in the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. And instead of traveling to the venue of their next match, the Indian team will spend a couple of days more in scenic Dharamshala.
India will next play England in Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on October 29. This means they have a healthy rest period of 7 days and have decided to enjoy some time off in the hills of Himachal.
The Men in Blue will not be undertaking any travel a day after the match, the usual drill in the World Cup so far, and have decided to stay back in Dharamsala for two days.
“The team will not travel today and will stay back in Dharamsala for two days. They will be resting before preparations for the next game in Lucknow begin,” a BCCI official told CricketNext.
Team India On A Roll With 5 Wins In 5 Matches, All While Chasing
India’s World Cup campaign has been outstanding; in all five of their games, they have outperformed the opposition. The bowlers, in particular, have been doing quite well and, by not offering the batters larger targets to chase, have somewhat eased their lives.
In all five of its matches, India has been successful in chasing targets; the highest total was the 274 runs that New Zealand posted in Dharamsala on October 22. This time around, India’s batting attack has been quite intentional, with Rohit Sharma leading the way at the top of the order. In 5 innings, the captain has scored 311 runs at a very respectable strike average of 133.48.

Chase guru Virat Kohli, who has now recorded four 50+ scores in the World Cup, including a hundred, is currently topping the standings. He was only five points away from recording his 49th hundred in the format. With an incredible average of 118 and 354 runs in 5 innings, the right-hander is leading the run-getters chart.
