The Pakistani skipper failed miserably in the first T20I, as he was dismissed for nine runs at the same venue (Lahore).
In the ongoing PAK vs NZ T20I series, the home side has won two matches in five matches so far. The hosts register a 38-run win over Kiwis in the second 2nd T20I after the Men in Green posted 192/4 in 20 allotted overs.

Babar goes past Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma’s record of T20I centuries as a skipper, with his latest hundred for Pakistan, it was Babar’s third century in T20Is, and all of them have come while leading the national side.
Meanwhile, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has four centuries in T20Is, but as captain, Babar, with 3 tons, has registered more than Rohit to achieve this milestone.
Overall, the 28-year-old now is second on the list of most hundreds in T20Is alongside Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, New Zealand’s Colin Munro and India’s Suryakumar Yadav, with three hundreds in T20Is.

Overall in the T20s, Babar has scored nine centuries. He is second to West Indies legend, Chris Gayle, who has the most tons in the format (22), including domestic and international circuit. As a captain in T20s, not only International cricket, this was overall Babar’s 6th hundred. He went past both Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, who have scored 5 T20 hundreds as captain, as Virat has scored five centuries for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

While in the 2nd T20I, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first at Gaddafi Stadium, Men in Green openers gave a good start and together added 99 runs, but Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed for 50 runs in the 11th over, while later in the innings Babar, who came as an opener along with Iftikhar Ahmed 33 (19) register a match-winning total for his side.
While in the chase, the Tom Latham-led Kiwi side started well but lost their openers in the 7th over on 44 runs, while Mark Chapman remained not out on 65 (40) as visitors lost wickets at regular intervals. The Kiwis managed 154/7 after the end of 20 overs.
Both sides will take on each other in the third T20I on April 17 at Lahore. Concurrently, Babar Azam-led side is leading the series by 2-0.
