Pakistan U19 claims an easy win and secure quarter-final spot in 2016 U19 WC
Pakistan U19 secure their quarter-final spot in the 2016 ICC U19 World Cup after clinching an easy victory against Canada U19 in the Group B encounter at Sylhet District Stadium.
After winning the toss, Canada U19 selected to bat first. Most of their top-order players played some good knocks but due to the middle order failure, Canadian youths failed to put a good total on the board. Canada U19 were bundled up for just 178 runs in 48.3 overs. Bhavindu Adhihetty and skipper Abraash Khan played 51 and 44 runs knocks respectively in the Canadian innings while Pakistan spinner Hasan Khan picked up 3 wickets.
In reply, Pakistan colts reached the target easily at 40.5 overs losing just 3 wickets. Opener Zeeshan Malik remained unbeaten at 89 runs in Pakistan innings.
Zeeshan Malik was selected for a man of the match award for his outstanding unbeaten match-winning knock. Pakistan U19 and Sri Lanka U19 both secured their spot for the quarter-final of 2016 U19 WC before meeting against each other in their final group match. Both teams are on same points (4 points) but Sri Lanka are ahead on the net run-rate.
