IPL 2020: Pat Cummins Repaid KKR The Huge Money They Spent On Him In Auction – Aakash Chopra

After Pat Cummins’s match-winning performance in the vital clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR), cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra said that Pat Cumins had repaid Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the hefty sum of money he was bought in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 auction.
Against RR, Pat Cummins ruined their massive top-order. In his first over, he snared the wicket of Robin Uthappa and sent Ben Stokes and Steve Smith to hut in the next over. Losing back to back wicket, RR went under pressure to chase down the mammoth target of 192 runs. Eventually, because of Cummins and other bowler’s outstanding performance, KKR won the match by 60 runs.
Pat Cummins was the game-changer for KKR: Aakash Chopra
While reviewing KKR’s performance against RR, Aakash Chopra heaped praise on two-star performers Eoin Morgan and Pat Cummins of that match. After the win, KKR has climbed up to the fourth position, but they have still not qualified for playoffs because the results depend on the two left league matches. Chopra is optimistic that the two-time IPL winners will play the eliminators.
“Pat Cummins with the ball and Eoin Morgan with the bat were absolutely outstanding. KKR has done what they could and are waiting for other results to fall in their favour which is a very strong likelihood,” Aakash Chopra said.
Although Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer had given commendable performance, Aakash Chopra picks Cummins for being the game-changer for KKR. He pointed out that the speedster’s set the momentum in his side’s favour after picking crucial three wickets of the top-order batsmen.
“I am going with Pat Cummins. The only way to stop the Rajasthan Royals was to take wickets. And if you take three wickets in the first two overs, what else do you want.
“And he took 4 wickets in all and broke the backbone of the RR batting lineup. And they were big wickets, he got Ben Stokes, Robbie and Steve Smith. It was just a matter of formality after that,” Chopra added.
The renowned commentator, at last, concluded that Cummins has proven that he deserved to be bought for huge money.
“This was the match where Pat Cummins repaid KKR for the huge money they spent on him,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, RCB and DC will clash on Monday, and the results of this match will decide whether KKR will move on to the playoff race.
