Perth Scorchers have roped in England batsman Liam Livingstone for the forthcoming season of the Big Bash League 2019-20. The right-handed batsman has impressed with his batting skills in the recent past. Livingstone is the first foreign signing for Perth Scorchers for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Liam Livingstone is looking forward to plying his trade for Perth Scorchers with all the zest. Livingstone said that he always wanted to play in the Big Bash League and can’t wait to play in the Australian T20 league.
“It’s a tournament I’ve always wanted to play in so I can’t wait to get to Perth,” Livingstone said. “I’ve spent a winter in Perth, I know the place well and I’m looking forward to getting back there. I can’t wait to see everyone at The Furnace this summer and hopefully I can provide some entertainment for the members and fans.”
On the other hand, Liam Livingstone has scored 1774 runs at an impressive strike rate of 140.90. The right-hander has thus far played 76 T20s. The England batter has the experience of playing for Karachi Kings and Rajasthan Royals in PSL and IPL respectively.
Perth Scorchers head coach Adam Voges is excited to have Livingstone on board.
“We’re very pleased to have secured Liam for the upcoming season,” Head coach Adam Voges said. “He has performed really well in T20 cricket all around the world over the past 12 months.
“Liam’s a great all-round package, he’ll give us some aggression at the top of the order, he’s a handy spinner and a fantastic fielder. We’re excited about what Liam can bring to the Scorchers this season and I’m sure he’ll become a fan favorite very quickly.”
Perth Scorchers will begin their BBL 2019-20 campaign against Sydney Sixers on 18th December at SCG.
