India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has backed Mohammed Shami to deliver the goods in the upcoming Pink ball Test against Bangladesh. Saha said that the color of the ball doesn’t matter and the in-form Shami will also do a fine job in Day-Night Test.

Mohammed Shami was the pick of the Indian bowlers in the first Test at Indore. Shami had scalped three wickets in the first innings and took four wickets in the second dig. The right-arm pacer was right on the money and he would like to continue his good show going.

Meanwhile, it would be interesting to note how Shami will bowl with the pink ball. It will not be easy for him as the dew will come into action. The dew is expected to make the ball heavy and thus it would be difficult to swing the ball.

Wriddhiman Saha told reports in Kolkata, “Pink or red, he (Shami) would have the same impact. Shami has done well in recent matches. In any condition, he does well. In Ranchi and the last game (he did so well). He gets the ball to reverse swing and with pace. The (color) of the ball won’t matter, he will deliver and trouble the batsman.”

On the other hand, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that the tickets for the first four days of the Test match have been sold out. Saha added that the thrill to play in front of the jam-packed stadium is different.

Saha said, “The thrill is different when a Test match is watched by a packed house. We are hearing that tickets are sold out.”

Meanwhile, Saha added that the Indian team has some experience of playing with the pink ball. The gloveman stated that the team will need to apply themselves on the ground.

“We have more experience with the pink ball, but with twilight period coming into play and considering dew factor, we have to apply ourselves on the ground.”

India and Bangladesh will face off each other in the historic pink-ball Test match from November 22 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
