Praveen Kumar Hails India U-19 Bowling Sensation Kartik Tyagi
In the ongoing U-19 World Cup, Kartik Tyagi has come out as a lethal bowler for India U-19 Team. He has impressed with his wicket-taking ability in the quarter-finals against the U-19 Australia team. Former Indian cricketer, Praveen Kumar has lauded the 19-year-old’s game.
Former Indian pacer Kumar was beforehand well known for the potentials of the youngster. He expressed that from the very start of Tyagi’s career, he was well acquainted with UP lad’s qualities. Thus, he contacted UP captain Suresh Raina well before to keep an eye on Tyagi.

“Ek dum paka hua bowler (fully seasoned), even then,” Praveen Kumar was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
“On a flat track, he was at another level from other bowlers. He was swinging the ball at will and with pace. I felt yeh ladka bheed mein na gum ho jaye. (hope this boy doesn’t get lost in the crowd). That’s why I called Raina.” Kumar said.

In the group stage fixtures against Japan and New Zealand, Tyagi had bowled his heart out. But his best game came against Australia at Potchefstroom. On Tuesday (28th January), U-19 Indian team has set a fighting total of 233 runs. In India’s inning, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Atharv Ankolkar have scored half-centuries each.
Tyagi rocked with the new ball as he picked quick wickets of Australia in his very first over. Interestingly, in his second over, he picked up another wicket and helped Team India to create pressure on Australia.
Thus, India won by 74 runs to enter the semi-final. Tyagi bagged the Man of the Match award in quarter-finals.
Soon after, Tyagi made the debut in first-class cricket for the domestic side, he picked the injury which caused a break in his career.
On his return, he impressed in age-group cricket and got picked for India’s U-19 team.
