ToggleKings XI Punjab (KXIP) has chosen KL Rahul as the captain for the upcoming IPL edition. KXIP’s co-owner Preity Zinta wished the batsman for the new challenges in IPL 2020 edition.
KL Rahul was always the priority for the captaincy position after KXIP traded Ravichandran Ashwin to Delhi Capitals. The opener Rahul has guided KXIP from the front, leading the team to victory. He has now earned up a new responsibility in the franchise.

The Bollywood actress was not present in the auction at Kolkata, but she was connected with his team. On Social Media, Preity Zinta wished Rahul for captaincy for the forthcoming edition.

KXIP has also made changes in their supporting staff as the former Indian head coach Anil Kumble was roped in as the head coach. A day ahead of the auction, Wasim Jaffer was named the batting coach of the team. Jaffer is the experienced domestic player who has played more than 150 Ranji Trophy matches.
KXIP in IPL 2020 Auction
On Thursday (19 December), the franchise bought nine players in the auction at Kolkata. Ravi Bishnoi, Simran Singh, Tajinder Dhillon, Chris Jordan, James Neesham, Ishan Porel, Deepak Hooda, Sheldon Cottrell and Glenn Maxwell were grabbed by KXIP from the auction pool.
KXIP spent INR 10.75 crores to rope the Australian batsman Glenn Maxwell for their service. He was the second-highest expensive cricketer in the auction. Sheldon Cottrell was the other costly overseas player purchased by KXIP for INR 8.5 crore
The franchise strengthed their bowling department as they bought four bowlers in the auction. Now, KL Rahul-led franchise has 25 players in the squad for the IPL 2020 edition.
