Windies great Vivian Richards has made of strong statement regarding Delhi Capitals’ (DC) duo; Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw in his recent column for the Times of India. As of now, both the young guns are participating in the twelfth edition of the IPL 2019.
The veteran cricket remarked Pant and Shaw are unlikely to get frightened while taking on any of the oppositions. Despite Shaw failing to leave a mark, the duo has helped Capitals’ cause to make it to the playoffs after seven-long years.
In 2012, Capitals had made it to the final four.
The aggressive players have shown the grit and passion in the recent past. Overall, Capitals as a unit has fought for the results before making things happen in their favour.

“For the Capitals, it will feel like a new experience making it to the playoffs after a seven-year gap. However, this season they have been one of the most exciting teams to watch. The young Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant play delightful shots and show no signs of being intimidated by the occasion or opposition, a trait that I think is crucial to winning consistently,” Richards, wrote in his column for ToI.
While finishing third on the IPL points table with 18 points, Capitals had produced a solid show during the ongoing IPL season.
However, the former Windies cricketer Richards believes it’s going to be an interesting contest with the bat. Well, despite the unavailability of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, he expects a contest between batters at Vizag.
Meanwhile, Capitals will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday evening.

Richards said Capitals would definitely miss their pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada, who is the highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2019 so far.
Rabada has managed to bag 25 scalps to don the Purple Cap.
“On Wednesday, in Vishakapatnam, an adrenaline pumping batting contest may be in store and this is where SRH will miss the explosive duo of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow and DC will miss their front-line bowler Kagiso Rabada,” Richards said.
