Robin Singh

Former Indian cricket Robin Singh has vast experiences in coaching. Now, the 55-year-old is fighting for the head coach role of the Indian national cricket team.
Robin Singh served for India from March 1989 to April 2001. He played only Test and 136 ODIs for India.
Robin Singh started his coaching career for the India U19 cricket team. In 2004, he coached the Hing Kong national cricket team. His presence helped that side to qualify for the Asia Cup 2004. In 2006, Singh coached India A side.
He was the fielding coach of Indian national cricket team from 2007 to 2009. Later in 2011, he was the head coach of United States women’s cricket team.
In the inaugural IPL season (2008), Robin Singh was the head coach of Deccan Chargers (DC).
From 2010, Singh has served various coaching role for another IPL side Mumbai Indians (MI). In the first three seasons for MI, he served as the head coach, including the runners-up in IPL 2010 and champions in the Champions League T20 2011. In his ongoing tenure, MI has also won four IPL trophies (2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019) and one more Champions League Twenty20 (2013).
Robin Singh also successfully coached in the many foreign leagues. He was the coach of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) side Khulna Division cricket team. Under his tenure, Uva cricket team won the Sri Lanka Premier League 2012.
Since the inaugural season of Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Robin Singh is serving the head coach role of Barbados Tridents. Under his tenure, Tridents have won one CPL trophy in 2014.
In Hong Kong T20 Blitz 2017, Robin’s team City Kaitak finished as the runners-up. He is the head coach cum mentor of this team. In the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2016 and 2017, he was the head coach of Karaikudi Kaalai. He also coached the T10 League 2017 champions Kerala Kings and the T10 League 2018 champions Northern Warriors.
