Journalist Rajat Sharma become new DDCA boss beating Madan Lal by 517 Votes

Senior Journalist Rajat Sharma has resigned from the post of President of Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA). With the support of Ex-Financial Minister Arun Jaitely, Rajat earned the valuable post on 1st July 2018. But now, he has submitted his resignation letter to the Supreme Court.

He has requested to end his 20-month tenure with immediate effects. In his resignation letter, He expressed that the administration is “full of pulls and pressures”.

“The cricket administration here is full of pulls and pressures all the time. I feel that vested interests are always actively working against the interest of cricket,” Sharma said in a statement.

Rajat Sharma decided to call it a day

There were reports that he had a difference with the general secretary Vinod Tihara, who has more like in the organisation.

Rajat Sharma further wrote that the work carried in DDCA is against his principals of honesty and integrity. His statements reflect that there is something fishy in the work of Administration.

“It seems that it may not be possible to carry on in DDCA with my principles of integrity, honesty and transparency, which I am not willing to compromise at any cost,” he added.

“That’s why I have decided to call it a day and hereby tender my resignation to the Apex Council from the post of President, DDCA with immediate effect,” he added.

Just Four weeks ago, former Indian cricketer turned politician, Gautam Gambhir, resigned from the post of director of DDCA. A close source to Gambhir had revealed that the former player wanted to do a lot for the Delhi cricketers but he was not given the freedom from DDCA.
