Rare Incidents: Brothers who played for two different countries 1

  1. Ed Joyce (England/ Ireland) and Dom Joyce (Ireland)

Ed Joyce played for England in the international cricket before joining with Ireland while his elder brother played for Ireland in the international cricket. Both the brothers made debut in the international cricket in the same match while Ed Joyce was playing for England and Dom Joyce was playing for Ireland. It was the only instance when these two brothers played together in the international cricket.

Ed Joyce has already played 56 ODIs and 18 T20Is (for England + Ireland) and still serving for Ireland. However recently Ed Joyce has taken retirement from T20I to concentrate into the longer formats.

On the other hand, Dom Joyce played only 3 ODIs for Ireland in his international career.
