In the third T20I match between India and South Africa, spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was seen celebrating Shikhar Dhawan’s wicket in an epic manner. Proteas vice-captain Rassie van der Dussen recently shed light on Shamsi’s celebration.

The first T20I match was abandoned because of persistent rain and no ball was played in Dharamshala ground. India registered a convincing victory in the second match and gained 1-0 lead in Mohali. But Quinton de Kock led team fought back and registered a victory in the third match to equal the series 1-1.

The South African bowler read the pitch correctly to get rid of India top-order convincingly. Rohit Sharma was out scoring only nine runs. Virat Kohli also followed the pack soon. Shikhar Dhawan was the highest run-scorer for the Indian team.

In Tabraiz Shamsi’s first over Dhawan consecutively hit 2 sixes but in his second over Shamsi came back in style to dismiss the southpaw. Clinching the precious wicket of the India opener, Shamsi celebrated in an epic fashion. He was seen removing his shoes from the foot and making a phone call with it.

Days after the celebration, Tabraiz Shamsi’s teammate, Rassie van der Dussen has spilled beans on Shamsi’s unique way of celebration. He said that the spinner makes a call to former South Africa cricketer Imran Tahir whenever he takes the wicket.

“Yeah, Shamsi always phones to Immy (Imran Tahir). Immy is obviously one of his heroes, and they work together a lot. So it was a nice moment for Shamsi to take a big wicket of Dhawan for us like Immy for us,” Dussen said.

Meanwhile, India will head towards Vishakhapatnam for the first Test match commencing on 2nd October. The three-match Test series will be crucial for India to maintain their top position in World Test Championship 2019-21.
