Ravindra Jadeja, Jimmy Neesham, New Zealand vs India 2020

India’s prominent all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja gave the bewitching performance of his fielding technique in the second ODI. The fielding master of Indian team stunned the New Zealand batsman Jimmy Neesham as he runs-out him during the 35th over of Auckland game.

Ever since his comeback in the Indian team, Jadeja has proven his worth in every aspect of the game. Being the allrounder, Jadeja is regarded as the best match-finisher and fielder in the team. Not a single ball can pass through the spot where Jadeja is stationed on the field.

And when the ball reaches in the hands of the fielder with such impression, the batsman is deemed to not think of a second run.

However, New Zealand’s Neesham underestimated the fielding skills of Jadeja while trying to clinch a single during the 2nd ODI.

Neesham made an appearance in the game after Kiwis lost Tom Latham (7), to help Ross Taylor post a decent score, if not big, for India to chase.

Being the set batsman on the crease, Taylor who pulled the shot hesitated to take the single in the 35th over.

However, seeing the confidence of the non-striker Neesham, Taylor went for the run while Jadeja swiftly threw the ball at the wickets. As expected the ball directly hit wickets before the batsman could make it to the crease. Jadeja easily got credited for a run out of the ‘overconfident’ Neesham.

Meanwhile, with Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal did well in the middle-overs, India restricted New Zealand for a total of 273 runs at a loss of eight wickets. While Chahal was able to snare three wickets, Jadeja and Navdeep Saini were the two bowlers with the best economy rate in the India team.

However, the magical spell pulled off by the Indian bowlers was not enough to restrict Taylor and the debutant Kylie Jamieson. The two not only just steadied the sinking ship of the hosts by settling 274-run target, but Jamieson’s two crucial important wickets lead New Zealand to win the series in the 2nd ODI.

Jamieson was named as the Player of the Match for his match-winning contribution with both the bat and the ball. The lanky pacer delivered goods well in time by dismissing Prithvi Shaw at the top. And the other one came in the end with the important wicket of Navdeep Saini, who scored 45-runs off of 49 balls.
