Indian National Cricket Team’s 2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh decided to bid farewell to cricket on June 10 (Monday) after an 18-year long fighting career. Social media went gaga in congratulating the champion cricketer on a successful career. Meanwhile, Sanjay Manjrekar, who has been a critic of Yuvraj’s flamboyant lifestyle and batting flaws throughout his career praised him heavily. However, Yuvraj gave a savage reply to the cricketer turned commentator soon after he extended the congratulatory message.
Yuvraj calls time in his career
Yuvraj Singh held a press conference on Monday at Mumbai to announce the news of his retirement. However, it was not a shock, and many saw this as coming. More than his antics inside the field, Yuvraj will be well-known for fighting severe health issues like cancer and returning to the cricket field. One of the most successful white-ball cricketers of all time, Yuvraj Singh scored 8,701 runs in ODIs and including a total of 52 fifties. He has also represented India in Test cricket, earning 40 caps.
Sanjay Manjrekar heaped praise on Yuvraj Singh after his retirement giving four detailed reasons why he will be one of the best in the history.
“Yuvraj Singh – 1) All time great one day batsman. 2) Batsman with the greatest bat swing ever. 3) Most impressive International debut I have seen from an Indian batsman. 4) A very selfless batsman. Enjoy your second innings Yuvi!” Manjrekar tweeted.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh who doesn’t like to mince with words gave an epic reply to Sanjay Manjrekar. The all-rounder thanked Manjrekar saying that when such messages come from the critics, it pulls out the best from a person. Manjrekar and Yuvraj didn’t get along together as the cricketer turned commentator has criticised the cricketer from Punjab every time from the commentary box.
“Thanks Sanjay I’m sure some time critics get the best out of you ! Cheers,” Yuvraj responded.
