Adelaide Oval will host the historic Pink ball Test match next year starting from December 2, becoming the host of the pink ball game for the third consecutive time in three years. Gabba will host the opening game of the historic Ashes series from November 23 before Adelaide host the pink ball game starting from December 2. Perth will host the third Test and we may see a new stadium hosting the game which is located in Burswood. The game, however, is subjected to the completion of the stadium.
Melbourne Cricket Gound (MCG) will host the traditional Boxing Day Test match before the Ashes Test series concludes at S.C.G. Five ODIs and a tri-series involving New Zealand as the third team will mark an end to the England’s long and traditional stay in Australia. However, the final of the tri-series will be played at Eden Park.
The CA chief executive, James Sutherland, believed that an exciting and surreal summer is ahead, “We recognise how big the Ashes is for both home and travelling fans, and the early announcement of the schedule for this series will allow fans here in Australia and abroad to plan their Ashes summer. This schedule will allow for at least three Sheffield Shield matches to be completed as preparation prior to the first Ashes Test in Brisbane. world longest six in cricket history list of top 10
“The decision to start the international season in Brisbane, then moving to Adelaide, allows us to give Perth Stadium the best chance to host the Test match, so we can welcome an even bigger crowd to Perth next summer,” he added.
“We’re really excited to announce that Adelaide will play host to the first ever Day-Night Ashes Test. We know how much Adelaide fans love this style of Test cricket. We’re expecting a full house next year in what is sure to be a great contest,” Sutherland concluded.
England team will be given adequate practise games before the start of international fixtures to grasp the conditions here. The visitors are also the current Ashes champion by virtue of winning the Cardiff, Birmingham and Nottingham Test matches last year.
England, despite a fumble in India, seems to be the red hot favourites as Australia are struggling in their own condition and are facing a torrid time than even England.
