In the IPL 2009, Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma stunned everyone by clinching a hat-trick. Recently, during the Instagram live with the Australian opener David Warner, Rohit reminisced that memory where he revealed that he couldn’t believe with that achievement.
It was the match between Deccan Chargers (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Centurion (6th May 2009) where the present MI captain Rohit Sharma was then serving for the now-defunct Deccan Chargers. After batting first, Deccan Chargers scored 145/6, where Rohit was the highest run-scorer (38).

In reply, the MI were losing their wickets at regular intervals while the off-spinner Rohit destroyed the opposition with his stunning hat-trick. He first time came to bowl in that innings in the 16th over where he bowled Abhishek Nayar (1) and Harbhajan Singh (0) in the last two balls. On the first ball of his next over (18th over of that innings), Rohit dismissed the set batsman Jean-Paul Duminy (52) and claimed his hat-trick.

I do not even remember how I used to bowl then: Rohit Sharma
Talking about that moment, Rohit said that he couldn’t believe that achievement. He now stays away from bowling due to finger injury.

Rohit told Warner, “I cannot believe that. I seriously cannot believe that I took a hat-trick against Mumbai Indians while I was playing for Deccan Chargers. I do not even remember how I used to bowl then. I got a finger injury and after that, I could not grip the ball properly and now I think that these days it is better to stay away from bowling.”
In fact, on the third ball of that 18th over, Rohit took another wicket after the stumping dismissal of Saurabh Tiwary (3). It means that Rohit took four wickets in five balls. At the end of that match, Rohit finished with the incredible bowling figures of 2-0-6-4 while the Mumbai Indians (MI) were restricted to 126/8 (20 overs). While Deccan Chargers won that match 19 runs, Rohit won the Player of the Match award.
In that season, Rohit played the important all-rounder role for his team Deccan Chargers to win that IPL trophy. Apart from scoring 362 runs in 16 matches (average 27.84), Rohit also took 11 wickets in that season.
