Rohit Sharma is ready to become the first Indian men’s cricketer and second men’s cricketer to play the 100 T20Is. Ahead of this historic game, Rohit has shared his thought.
If the cyclone doesn’t destroy the Rajkot T20I on Thursday (7th November) evening, Rohit Sharma will play his 100th T20I.
Before Rohit Sharma, Shoaib Malik achieved the 100 T20I match record. Serving in Pakistan and ICC World XI, Malik has played 111 T20Is.
In the last game at Delhi, Rohit Sharma played his 99th T20I. During that game, he became India’s most-capped T20I player after surpassing MS Dhoni‘s record of 98 T20Is. Now, Rohit is ready to play his 100th T20I while he is also leading the Indian T20I side in the absence of regular captain Virat Kohli.

Ahead of Rohit’s 100th T20I, the BCCI has released a short video of his interview. Rohit feels that it is a very proud moment for him to play 100 T20Is which he never imagined.
He said, “Firstly, I never thought I will play so many games. I am grateful for all the opportunities I have got in the past. It’s been a long journey since I made my debut…lots of ups and downs. I have understood my game through the experience that I have had. Yes, I am very happy with where I stand right now getting to know that I will be playing my 100th game for India. Very proud moment.”
I love all my knocks – Rohit Sharma
In the last game in Delhi T20I, Rohit Sharma became the most run-scorer in T20I history. Ahead of his 100th T20I, the right-handed batsman Rohit has scored 2,452 runs (91 innings) with an average of 31.84. In his T20I career, Rohit has hit the record number of four centuries and 17 more half-centuries.
Rohit Sharma has hit four T20I centuries, which is the most for any batsman in T20I history. Apart from his first century, all other T20I centuries came in the winning cause. However, he doesn’t believe in rating his knocks.

Rohit Sharma’s T20I centuries
| Runs | Opposition | Venue | Date | Match result |
| 106 | South Africa | Dharamsala | 2nd October 2015 | Lost |
| 118 | Sri Lanka | Indore | 22nd December 2017 | Won |
| 100* | England | Bristol | 8th July 2018 | Won |
| 111* | Windies | Lucknow | 6th November 2018 | Won |
Rohit said about his T20I centuries, “I can’t rate any of my knock like that because all four knocks were important. The first one was an important one being the first one, although we lost that game. But the other three came in winning causes so those three were important. I have never been a fan of rating my knocks. I love all my knocks.”
The Indian limited-overs opener is also grateful for fans support
Rohit Sharma has also admitted that his success wouldn’t be possible or easier without fans support. He is hoping the same love and support in his entire career.

Rohit added, “Without their support, it wouldn’t be possible or rather it wouldn’t be easier. Their support means a lot and I hope it continues to shower upon me till the time I play. I look forward to many more memorable knocks in future as well.”
The Rajkot T20I is a must-win game for India to remain in the contention of this home series victory against Bangladesh. In this three-match T20I series, Bangladesh are leading by 1-0 after the first T20I. On last Sunday (3rd November), Bangladesh won the opening T20I of this series at Delhi by seven wickets.
