On Thursday (7th November), Rohit Sharma becomes the first Indian men’s cricketer, second men’s cricketer and second overall Indian cricketer to play 100 T20Is. Also, Rohit breaks the record of the playing most T20 matches as an Indian cricketer.
Rohit Sharma-led Indian national cricket team is currently busy in the Rajkot T20I against Bangladesh. It is the 100th T20I for Rohit Sharma. After Shoaib Malik, Rohit becomes the second men’s cricketer to play 100 T20Is. Malik has represented Pakistan and ICC World XI in T20Is and has played 111 T20Is.
During the ongoing 100th T20I, Rohit also surpassed Shahid Afridi‘s (Pakistan/ICC World XI) 99 T20I records.
On last Sunday (3rd November), during the Delhi T20I against Bangladesh, Rohit became the most-capped Indian cricketer in T20I history. While it was his 99th T20I, Rohit also surpassed Indian wicketkeeper MS Dhoni who has played 98 T20Is till the date.

Before Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur played 100 T20Is for India
However, in overall, Rohit becomes the second Indian cricketer to play 100 T20Is. Just a month ago, Indian women’s star Harmanpreet Kaur became the first Indian to play 100 T20Is. On 4th October 2019, during the Surat T20I, Harmanpreet played her 100th T20I.
Till the date, a total of 10 women cricketers have played 100 or more T20Is. So, Rohit becomes the 12th overall cricketer to play 100 T20Is.
In 1984, Sunil Gavaskar became the first Indian to play 100 Tests. Three years later, another legend, Kapil Dev became the first Indian cricketer to play 100 ODIs. Now, Rohit Sharma becomes the first Indian to play 100 T20Is.

Suresh Raina is in the next position in this list as he has played 319 T20s. At present, Rohit is the 11th most-capped player in T20 cricket history.
