India’s limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma will lead Board President’s XI in the three-day match against South Africa before the Test series. Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal are the only two players in Board President’s XI who are also part of the 15-member squad for the senior team.

In fact, the dual will also open the innings for the Indian national cricket team in the first Test match. Struggling KL Rahul is dropped after ordinary performances. MSK Prasad, chief selector confirmed that Rohit Sharma will play as the opener. The flamboyant batsman has been in sublime limited-overs form. Hence, he would like to take the same form to the multi-day format.
