Watch: Rohit Sharma Giving A Heart-Warming Welcome To The ‘Kul-Cha’ Duo
The return of the famous ‘KulCha’ duo – Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal marks the return of the well known “Chahal Tv” show. The last time the duo featured in the T20 format of the national side was in 2018 against England in Cardiff. Rohit Sharma, the limited-overs deputy of the Virat Kohli-led team, welcomes back the ‘KulCha’ duo during the practice session for the first T20 against West Indies.
On the eve of the first T20 match with the Caribbean, the two cricketers were united at the practice nets. And before the famous ‘Chahal TV’ can take off, Rohit Sharma took some time out of the training sessions in Hyderabad. He interviewed the duo about the leisure activities they would participate in when off the field and also while on the field.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the video of Rohit interviewing Kuldeep and Chahal.
Rohit Sharma the spin duo – Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal
The India cricketers on Thursday started to sweat it out at the practice session before they march up against the T20 Champs, this time on their home soil. The series brought back the spin duo – Kuldeep and Chahal together for the T20 series after a year. Meanwhile, Chahal is the host of the popular show ‘Chahal TV’ where after almost every match, he interviews the Indian cricketers on his show.
This time before the show and the series kicked off, the India cricket army deputy Rohit interviewed the two bowlers. Before starting off with Chahal, Rohit informed the audience that the two cricketers had insisted that the interview shall be done in English only. The questions in the interview were based on the personal life of the two cricketers.
Answering to how he manages to unwind himself after high-pressure games, Chahal’s reply was heartwarming. The Indian spinner likes to spend his leisure time with his family and expressed his love for “Groot”, his dog. The leg-spinner later added that he meets his childhood friends and likes to go on long drives with them.
“Especially now, I moved back with my family. I just roam around with my family. Whatever time I get, I spend time with them. I spend time with my dog, whom I have adopted. His name is Groot”.
“I meet my childhood friends, and I go on long drives with them. Sometimes, I play pool or PS4 together. When you are playing for India or a domestic tour, you don’t get time to meet them or talk to them. So, when I get time, I utilize it to spend time with my family, my friend, and my dog,” he added.
And when it came down to Kuldeep, Rohit questioned him about his favourite places that the Chinaman likes to visit when he travels with the team during their tours.
“Australia is beautiful. There are a few cities like Syndey and Melbourne. I like to go there and run outside. They all have good parks and stadiums and good hotels as well. I like to go there and take a run outside,” Kuldeep replied.
