Rohit Sharma Wishes To See Yuvraj Singh In International Cricket For A Little Longer

10th June 2020 was the one-year anniversary for Yuvraj Singh’s retirement from the international cricket. On this moment, the Indian opener and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma wished to see the former Indian cricketer Yuvraj to play the international cricket for a little longer.

One of the top-most successful Indian cricketers, Yuvraj Singh, announced his retirement from the international cricket on 10th June 2019 after missing out the international game for around two years.

On the one-year anniversary of his retirement from the international cricket, while the fans and his former teammates were memorising the former Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj posted the thankful messages for everyone on his official social media accounts.

Later, Rohit Sharma wrote on his official Twitter account, “Wonderful memories together. I hope you played a little longer @YUVSTRONG12.”

A brief story on Yuvraj Singh’s cricket career

Yuvraj Singh first time gained the popularity after guiding Mohammad Kaif-led India U19 team to win their first-ever ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2000 edition. In that tournament, Yuvraj won the Player of the Tournament award for his incredible all-round performances.

In that same year (2000), Yuvraj made his international debut. Yuvraj was a great left-handed batsman, useful left-arm spinner and incredible fielder. Though he faced many ups and downs in his international career, Yuvraj never gave up and returned to the game in incredible ways.

In his 17 years of international career, Yuvraj played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is where the left-handed batsman scored 11686 runs and also the left-arm spinner took 147 wickets.

While MS Dhoni-led India won the ICC World T20 2007 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Yuvraj played pivotal roles in both those tournaments. Yuvraj even won the Player of the Tournament trophy in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 for his outstanding all-round performances.

Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma played together in 115 international matches

While Rohit Sharma has already played 364 international matches (32 Tests, 224 ODIs and 108 T20Is), he played with Yuvraj in 115 international games (68 ODIs and 47 T20Is). They were also the teammate during India’s victory in the ICC World T20 2007. Yuvraj-Rohit also played together in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2019.
