Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) has confirmed that they have received the application of Robin Uthappa but the state cricket association is yet to take a call upon to decide whether his application will be accepted or not,
“We have received the application. But we haven’t confirmed him as our player yet,” Himanshu Shah, SCA manager said.
Uthappa ended his ties with Karnataka in the month of June when he asked for an NOC from the state board. He had represented Karnataka for 15 years but he decided to move on for the upcoming season. Though Uthappa did not comment on the matter, the reason behind the move was clear as the wicketkeeper batsman was dropped from the team for the Ranji quarter final last season.
In addition to that, he was also not included in the side for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The emergence of youngsters also added to it and negligence of senior players forced him to make a move. He is still eyeing an India come back and Uthappa wants a permanent place in the side to live his dream again.

Earlier, there were reports that Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) might rope in Uthappa for the season and they also waited for his reply but he turned down their offer to lead the team in KSCA Trophy. Till then, the state had already found the second professional in form of Arun Karthik and now the team is the team is stacked up with two professional players in form of Jalaj Saxena and Arun Karthik. Arun though is busy with his TNPL commitments and is not part of the team in the pre-season tournament.
