Former Indian cricketer and captain Rahul Dravid was one of the greatest batsmen in international cricket history. Dravid was famous for his solid defensive batting which provided enough confidence to the entire Indian batting line-up. Dravid had a long international career of 164 Tests, 344 ODIs and only T20I between 1996 and 2012 where he finished as the second most run-scorer as an Indian batsman in international cricket (24208 runs).
Dravid is famous for his calm behaviour and selfless character. Though he was in form in Test cricket, Dravid decided to retire from the international cricket to open up the chances for the youngsters. While he underperformed in his final Test series during the 2011/12 Australia tour, he was India’s leading run-scorer in two back-to-back Test series (2011 England tour and 2011/12 West Indies tour of India) before his final Test series.
