Jharkhand spinner Shahbaz Nadeem has been added to India’s squad for the third Test match at Ranchi. Nadeem has been added to the squad after Kuldeep Yadav complained of shoulder pain before the Test match. Nadeem has been added after his consistent performance in the domestic circuit.
The Ranchi pitch is expected to offer assistance to the spinners and thus India can go in with three spinners in the side. Nadeem is yet to make his debut in any three forms of the game and he has played 64 IPL matches thus far in which he has taken 42 wickets.
Nadeem has an impressive domestic record.
Furthermore, Shahbaz Nadeem has an impressive First-Class career. The southpaw spinner has snared 424 wickets in the 110 matches for Jharkhand and he would like to hit the ground running if he gets an opportunity to make his Test debut.
Meanwhile, India has already bagged the series as they have taken an impregnable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series. India had won the first Test match by a mammoth margin of 203 runs whereas they had won the second Test at Pune by an innings and 137 runs.
Consequently, India will look to continue their domination in the series. On the other hand, South Africa will aim to make a comeback into the series. In fact, there is no doubt that the Proteas will need to play out of their skins to challenge the potent Indian side.
It has been one-way traffic in the series and the hosts will aim to continue their authority. The Virat Kohli-led side has shown no mercy and they would like to claim another 40 points in the ICC Test championship.
On the other hand, South Africa will like to get on the board. The third and final Test will take place at Ranchi from tomorrow.
