Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi revealed the person who gave him the title of Boom Boom. Afridi was well known for his pyrotechnics with the bat.

In the Question-Answer session held on Twitter, Shahid Afridi revealed the current Indian head coach Ravi Shastri gave him the title of ‘Boom Boom’. Ravi Shastri had worked as a commentator before his present coaching role. In fact, the Indian chief coach is well known for his enthusiastic commentary.
Meanwhile, Afridi scored his runs at a staggering strike rate of 117.01. Afridi scored more than 10,000 runs at the International circuit. Furthermore, he scalped more than 500 wickets at the topmost level. He also led Pakistan with aplomb in the ODI version.

Afridi made his ODI debut in 1996 against Kenya. He was able to impress straightaway as he scored the fastest century against Sri Lanka. The right-hander was able to bring his hundred in just 37 balls. Therefore, Afridi’s record stayed at the top for almost 18 years.
