An old video of Shahid Afridi is going round the corner at a time when Pakistan cricket is surrounded by allegations of discrimination in the team. In an interview, former Pakistani allrounder confessed that he broke a TV when his daughter imitated an aarti scene from an Indian show on the TV.
Shahid Afridi dedicated two decades of his life to Pakistan cricket, and when such a veteran speaks against any religion, it hurts the sentiments of people connected with that. In a talk show, the host asked if he has broken the TV in his house. In reply, Shahid gave an answer which is being criticised in social media.
“I smashed my TV once, because of my wife. These daily soaps on Star Plus were quite popular then,” Afridi said.
“I had asked my wife to watch them alone and not with the kids. I saw one of my kids performing ‘arti’ while watching a Star Plus show. I then smashed the TV inside the wall,” He added.

His statement is being highlighted more because of the current environment in Pakistan cricket. Some days earlier, Shoaib Akhtar spoke about the discrimination the minorities, especially the Hindu face in the Pakistan team. He said that some team members refused to eat with ex-Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria.

After this, Kaneria also assented with Shoaib’s statement and thanked him for bringing the truth in front of everyone. He also showed gratitude to every supporter through his youtube channel. He opined that he gave his blood to this cricket pitch as he never wanted to stop playing for his country.
Meanwhile, former cricketer Javed Miandad has said that Kaneria is doing all this act to earn fame and promote his Youtube channel.
