On Friday (13th September), Zimbabwe cricketer Ryan Burl smashed 30 runs in an over to the no.2-ranked T20I all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh) in the opening T20I of the tri-series at Dhaka.

Shakib Al Hasan, who performed impressively a few months ago in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, is running in a tough phase as an international captain. He has recently expressed that he doesn’t want to lead Bangladesh in any format at present.

Under his captaincy, Bangladesh recently lost the only home Test against Afghanistan. Bangladesh players performed poorly in that game and lost by 224 runs.

Due to the rain-interruption, that game had a delayed-start and it became an 18-over game. Once Zimbabwe were struggling who batted first after losing the toss. Struggling on 63/5, Ryan Burl and Tinotenda Mutombodzi played the crucial knocks to post a fighting total of 144/5 (18 overs). They had the unbroken 81 runs partnership for the sixth wicket. Burl remained not out on 57 runs (32 balls) and Mutombodzi was batting on 27 runs (26 balls).
