Bangladesh all-rounder and the Test & T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan has returned to his home, and now he will undergo X-ray to his injured finger to decide his future fate in cricket career.
The 31-year-old all-rounder was initially in both the ODI and Test squads of the ongoing New Zealand tour. In the ongoing New Zealand tour, Bangladesh has already completed the three-match ODI series. At present, they are busy in the three-match Test series.
However, before that tour, Shakib Al Hasan faced his finger injury. During the recent 2018/19 Bangladesh Premier League, one of his fingers was fractured. That injury forced him to miss the ODI series in the New Zealand tour. Moreover, he has already missed the first Test of that tour, and he is also ready to miss the second Test of the tour too that will begin on 8 March.

As he is unavailable for cricket at present, Shakib Al Hasan was in the short USA tour with his family. He has just returned to his country, and soon, he will undergo X-ray to assess his finger condition. If the reports show the positive results, the all-rounder may be available for the third and final Test of the ongoing New Zealand tour. The third Test will begin on 16 March at Christchurch.
Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu told the reporters, “The condition of his finger will be diagnosed by an X-ray. We will decide Shakib’s fate for the tour after that.”
However, the Chief Selector has also revealed that the all-rounder is feeling quite well at present.
He had a finger injury during Asia Cup 2018
Shakib Al Hasan is facing continuous issues with his finger injury since the last year. Before the Asia Cup 2018, he was in serious doubt to feature in that tournament. Though he played the initial matches of that tournament, he missed out the last two games of the tournament, including the final against India.
Later, he underwent surgery on his injured finger. After making a successful recovery, he made his return to the cricket and showed his consistent form.
Shakib Al Hasan is a crucial member of Bangladesh national cricket team

The all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is a very important cricketer of his nation. While the World Cup is very near, the team management will surely not take any further risk on Shakib Al Hasan.
Before the World Cup, Bangladesh will play an ODI tri-series in Ireland from 5 to 17 May. After that tour, they will participate in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales. They will begin their World Cup journey on 2 June against South Africa at The Oval (London).
