Shane Warne Reacts On Ravi Shastri’s View On India’s Future No.1 Overseas Test Spinner
Recently, the Indian head coach Ravi Shastri claimed that Kuldeep Yadav would be India’s future no.1 overseas Test spinner. Now, the legendary Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne has opened up his view on this.
Since his international debut, the left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has impressed with his bowling skills. The young spinner has dominated many times both in Indian soil and overseas.
Kuldeep Yadav made his international debut in March 2017 through the Test cricket. He has played six Tests, 39 ODIs and 18 T20Is where he has picked up 24, 77 and 35 wickets respectively. Moreover, he has also an ODI hat-trick that happened against Australia at Kolkata on 21 September 2017. Currently, Kuldeep Yadav is the no.4-ranked ODI bowler and no.2-ranked T20I bowler.
Till the date, the left-arm chinaman has played two Tests outside the Asian soil. After having the wicketless experiences in the Lord’s Test in last August, the young spinner featured in the Sydney Test in this January where he claimed a five-wicket haul. The Indian team management, as well as many experts, have liked Kuldeep Yadav’s Sydney Test performance.
Later, Ravi Shastri said that they are looking at Kuldeep Yadav as India’s future no.1 overseas Test spinner. In the last few years, the off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has played the role of India’s no.1 overseas Test spinner. However, in recent times, he has failed to maintain his performance and fitness too.
Shane Warne’s view on Kuldeep Yadav
Recently, the legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne has opened up his view on this matter. During a recent interview with India Today, Shane Warne spoke about the future of wrist spinners in Test cricket. He admitted that he has a special emotion on the spinners, especially on the leg-spinners. He is hopeful on Kuldeep Yadav’s Test cricket future as he feels that the young man is a classy bowler.
Shane Warne told India Today, “Look, I am biased. I want spinners to play all the time. Play as many spinners whether it’s off spin, leg spin. But the more leg spinners, the better for me. I think it’s a proven fact that leg spinners can help win you games in all conditions, home or away. So I hope India stick with spinners and Kuldeep gets a spot in any condition because he is a class act.”
At present, Kuldeep Yadav regularly plays limited-overs cricket. Now, the world cricket wants to see his caliber in the longest cricket format.
