Former Australian cricketer legend, Shane Warne has accused the country’s rivals of unfairly using the Test ball-tampering controversy to kick the team when it is down.
Moreover, Warne feels other nations need to use this scandal to reflect on their sides.
“It is very disappointing. but I feel that this has given an opportunity to others to slam [the] boot into Australians without any reason,” Warne said to PTI.
Meanwhile, the 48-year old is currently in India working with the Rajasthan Royals side. He is working as an advisor for the franchise in this edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

However, Warne didn’t try to defend the conduct of cricketers like Steven Smith and David Warner. He also expressed his disappointment like every other Australian.
“[But] anyone who has been beaten by Australia, who don’t like the way the Australians play the game or they don’t like any individual in any country have taken the opportunity to take boots into the Australians,” Warne added.
“I think it is a great opportunity for every single country look into its own backyards and think [about] the way they want to play cricket,” he mentioned further.
Cricket Australia sanctioned severe bans to the disgraced Australian trio. While Smith and Warner got a ban of 12 months, Cameron Bancroft faced a nine-month ban.
Furthermore, CA stripped Smith and Bancroft from captaincy for the next two years while Warne cannot lead any further.
As a result, BCCI also banned both the senior cricketers from this edition of the tournament.
Royals appointed Smith as their skipper on their comeback edition. Incidentally, Warne led Royals to the IPL title in 2008 during the competition’s inaugural season.
Warne, who Sunrisers Hyderabad to title 2016 will also miss the upcoming campaign.
